Norfolk eco-fuel pioneer Dennis Thouless was celebrating another win at the EDP Business Awards.
His company, Global Commodities UK, has achieved the remarkable feat of turning used cooking oil into an ecologically friendly fuel suitable for use in diesel engines.
It won the 2003 Best New Business category, sponsored by the East of England Development Agency, having been winner of the Environment category last year.
The firm 's driveECO biodiesel is being sold commercially at independent garage forecourts and is already being used by some haulage companies and Broads boatyards.
Managing director Mr Thouless said "Winning this award means the reward and recognition for our considerable efforts in building a successful business based on preserving our environment for future generations. It raises the profile of driveECO biodiesel and other environmentally friendly products bringing them to the forefront. It is a great accolade for everyone who shares of vision of 'fuelling a better world'."
The judges said: "This is an outstanding business which, as well as being a money-making enterprise, has shown a commitment to research, education and our environment. The company has enormous potential for the future and we feel it will make a significant difference to the quality of people's lives."
The company was founded in January 2001 and plans to open a new factory and offices at Lowestoft, increasing production capacity from 10 million litres a year to 180 million.
